Patented technology for pressure ulcer prevention

Von Schele Solutions is developing a system for integration into nursing and hospital beds. Its movable bands create controlled motion across the support surface, with the aim of redistributing pressure and gently stimulating the tissue.

What is a pressure ulcer?

A pressure ulcer, also known as a decubitus ulcer or bedsore, is localized damage to the skin and underlying tissue associated with prolonged pressure or pressure combined with shear. It most often affects people with limited mobility and develops over bony areas such as the heels or sacrum.

Prevention requires a comprehensive approach, including risk assessment, regular skin checks, pressure relief, mobility support, hydration and nutrition. Our technology is being developed as a potential complement to established preventive care.
